MEET THE RETAILER: TESSUTI

We spoke with Ali McIntosh about her store Tessuti. The Jervois Road institution serves up a range of premium lifestyle wares from clothing & jewellery to books & goods for around the home.

TD - Tell us about your business.
AM - Tessuti houses a hand-selected curation of luxury gift and homewares, and has been operating in Auckland, New Zealand for 28 years!

What’s the Tessuti point of difference?
We focus on exclusive locally-made ceramics, textiles, artworks and glass pieces, plus an array of adored international brands.

Tell us about yourselves and what you like to do
We live in the most beautiful country, and love to get outdoors bushwalking, visiting the local beaches, exploring the art galleries. And cooking for friends of course.

What do you love most about Triumph & Disaster?
The great team behind the brand, walking the talk. It's a wonderful ethically run business, producing a product that we can be proud of on the international stage.

What’s your favourite product in the Triumph & Disaster range?
Rock and Roll Face Scrub - use it every week and also is a favourite of mine to gift.

People love your Tessuti because…
It provides a unique shopping experience - thoughtful and considered - and a peaceful calming space to enjoy being in. There's also Monty (a large chocolate labrador that is at the store most days) :)

What’s this year's one must-have gift from your store?
Missoni towels - to go with your T&D in the bathroom
